Held every two years, this event not only brings the competitors a disc
golf experience of a lifetime, but also gives the participants a chance
to experience the wonders of Japan and the Japanese culture.
Players should plan on taking on the challenge of a course not designed
for the timid, but for world class competition.
Set in the majestic mountains of Nasu Shiobara, this famous golf course
designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. will be transformed into 2 (18) hole courses of
demanding disc golf. Your three day Japan Open Disc Golf passport entitles you to three rounds with tee time formats.

There will be a required entry fee of $180.00 for OPEN &
WOMEN divisions into the JAPAN OPEN DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT. The 4 MILLION
YEN guaranteed prize money will be distributed in the OPEN & WOMEN'S divisions only.
have the option for their score to apply in additional age divisions
depending upon age. For example, a 40 year old male could opt to pay an
additional $100 dollars (total entry fee $280) for his score to qualify
for OPEN & MASTERS division prize money.
A 50 year old female could ultimately play in OPEN WOMEN, MASTERS &
GRANDMASTERS (total entry fee $380) for her score to qualify in these
divisions. 100% of the money generated in the additional Age Divisions
will be paid back according to PDGA standards.
HERO DISC will donate trophies to the Champions of all divisions regardless of the number of competitors in each division.

JAPAN OPEN TRAVEL DESK will suggest convenient travel options to coordinate times with the official HERO DISC PICK-UP BUS. HERO DISC will sponsor and arrange for a bus to transport players from Narita Airport to the official tournament hotel.

Important Travel information: The Japan Open 2014 has provided complimentary shuttle service to and from the Narita airport for registered competitors. Guests and Friends will be charged a nominal fee. Travel time on the shuttle bus is approximately 3-4 hours depending on traffic and unforeseen events. When making your travel plans please allow adequate time to arrive at the airport before the shuttle boards.
The Shuttle Bus leaves Narita at 7pm ; boarding at 6:45pm
Inland transportation from Narita Airport to Nasu Highlands, Tochigi Prefecture is not only costly but can take up to 4 hours by car to reach the official tournament hotel. Detailed instructions and information about the PICK-UP BUS will be posted as it is developed. This website will also provide detailed information on "how to get to the Japan Open on your own". This information is now being developed.
