150 Open Class Disc Specifications
For the 2010 Japan Open, 150 Open Class means that the disc's weight may be up to but no greater than 159.9 grams.
ONLY 150 OPEN CLASS P.D.G.A.
APPROVED DISCS ARE PERMITTED DURING THE JAPAN OPEN DISC GOLF
TOURNAMENT. In order to satisfy this requirement, there will be an
official scale at the tournament to check your discs. Discs must be under 159.9 grams (lighter weight discs are of course
acceptable) in order to be used at this year’s event. Players may be
asked at any time during the tournament to weigh their discs. If there
is any question about the legality of a disc, the tournament director
will make a final decision. If a player is found to be in violation of
this requirement they will be subject to penalties under PDGA Rules
governing discs used in play (PDGA Rule 802.01D & E). In the past
the Japan Open has always trusted players to conform to the 150 class
requirement, but as the event grows the importance of this issue has
become paramount. Since there will be a scale available at the
tournament, this should not be an issue.
